GLASNOW OUT! OTHERS IN!

retro_slouch

Sometimes a move has to happen NOW. Today the 2024 Tampa Bay Rays met with the 2024 Cincinnati Reds and made a blockbuster trade.

2024 TAMPA BAY RAYS ACQUIRE:

NOELVI MARTE - 2B/SS

Noelvi Marte was acquired by the Cincinnati Reds for Luis Castillo, and has produced middling results for the Reds organization since then. His floor is still high, and we LOVE the control years (since he's still rookie eligible hahahahah). Look for Marte to be a force in our lineup for 5 years to come! We're excited to unlock his pop.

TYLER STEPHENSON - C

Tyler Stephenson was drafted 11th overall by the 2015 Cincinnati Reds in the 2015 MLB June Amateur Draft. He astonished fans and scouts alike with his unique brand of ball-bashin' play since debuting in 2020, even making Foolish Baseball's breakout list one preseason. Injuries have derailed him, and we're ready to rail him again.

JULIAN AGUIAR - LHP

Tall, dark, and handsome, Julian Aguiar was the 2021 Cincinnati Reds' 12th round pick in the 2021 MLB June Amateur Draft. He literally cannot help but strike batters out. It is pretty much all he does aside from walking them, and we can iron out that kink.

2024 CINCINNATI REDS ACQUIRE:

TYLER GLASNOW - SP

Despite coming back from major injury midway through the 2023 season, Tyler Glasnow hit a career-high in innings pitched. And despite being a little BABY about the foreign substance ban, Glasnow was immaculate. At a full year's workload he's a 5-win player, but that seems pretty goldarned unlikely. See you around, Tyler!

HAROLD RAMIREZ - DH

Harold Ramirez has had a nice run in Tampa Bay, hitting at a near 130 wRC+ pace last season. Unfortunately he plays very poor defense and we don't have a true home for him as he reaches higher and higher arbitration years. We wish him luck in Great American Smallpark.

BRENDAN "TWO-WAY" MCKAY - SP

After suffering injuries, injuries, and some more injuries, "Two-Way" McKay looks unlikely to be a legitimate two-way threat. "White Shohei" still has some promise as a pitcher, and we're happy to move him along to an organization where he's likely to get an opportunity at least a reliever.

$4,200,000 - USD

This one hurts. But in a way it's like we're getting $20,800,000 to play with! We hope this USD does well in Cincinnati.
